My CSA Box: Menu Plan November 5-10

Last week, I invited a friend for lunch. Makes me happy to cook for another mom, we had a nice curry chicken salad from the Frog Commissary Cookbook. This week, I am hosting another ladies’s lunch and we will have the Northern Italian Rice Salad with Shrimp and Clear Garlic Vinaigrette and the Oriental Chicken Salad, again from the Frog Commissary Cookbook*. My co-host will bring some cheese and baguettes, as well as a light almond/pine nut cookie she makes. We will round out lunch with sparkling waters and lemonade.

Our box from Fifth Crow Farms CSA contained Butternut winter squash, Scallions, Turnips, Baby spinach, Hudson’s Golden Gem apples, White Russian kale, Strawberries and Purple Potatoes.

Here is my menu plan for the week of November 5:

Sunday: Beef Goulash with Potatoes(Pressure Perfect by Lorna Sass), roasted kale chips

Monday: Three-Bean Turkey Chili (Pressure Perfect by Lorna Sass)

Tuesday: Taco Tuesday

Wednesday: Orecchiette with Spicy Sausage and Spinach (Small Victories by Julia Turshen)

Thursday: Pork meatballs, mashed turnips and potatoes with turnip greens (click here for recipe)

Friday: Pizza Night!
