I realized this post would be more interesting if the picture matched the title, but I couldn’t possibly be that clever. So you get a nice picture of lettuce. You’re welcome.
Our box from Fifth Crow Farms CSA included Kale, Baby lettuce, Chard, Garlic chives, Beets, and Blue Morro dried beans. In addition, I visited a pop-up market from Mariquita Farms and a lot a bunch of green garlic. The green garlic, in my mind, can be used anytime garlic is called for in a recipe. Yum!
Here is my menu plan for the week of April 2:
Sunday: Orecchiette with leeks, spinach (substituting kale), sausage and peas (recipe from Fine Cooking, April/May 2017)
Monday: Leek, chicken and rice soup (recipe from Fine Cooking, April/May 2017)
Tuesday: Fajita Tuesday (like Taco Tuesday, but different)
Wednesday: Dinner out after track meet
Thursday: Real Good Fish
Friday: Take out and Trashy TV
