Chicken Month on Food in the Kitchen

Welcome to Chicken Month! An entire month devoted to talking about chickens. Well, that’s not exactly true, as I have a somewhat short attention span, but we will have several backyard chicken posts this month as partners for our friends at Once A Month Mom. Once a Month Mom is helping their readers explore whole food diets, diets that involve real food, unprocessed, ideally from local sources, through Get Real 2012. Tricia and Kelly invited me to participate in September and discuss chicken.

This month, we will look at starting your own backyard chicken flock, what to do with all those eggs, how to source local meat chickens and more. If you have any specific topic you are interested in, please let me know.

To get you started, here are a few of the posts from Kitchen Gadget Girl about backyard chickens and our trials and tribulations. Our girls are now 2.5 years old, and quite full of personality. I look forward to sharing more about our experiences this month! Cluck cluck!
