It has been a long time coming, and I have hinted at it before, but the freezer is full of good things we need to eat, to make space to put more good things to eat. This week is hearby declared “Clean the Freezer Week”. My entire menu will revolve around what I find in the freezer. It is going to be random, definitely. And after looking at the pictures, this might have to go into next week, too.
My menu plan for the week of October 10:
(Meatless) Monday: Acorn squash soup and grilled cheese, edamame, apple puff tart
Tuesday: Pasta with marinara sauce, turkey meatballs, salad and carrots with ranch dressing
Wednesday: Baked Lebanese Kibbe, rice blend, steamed squash, salad
Thursday: Ham hocks with navy beans, bread, sauteed chard
Friday: Takeout and trashy TV
What is lurking in your freezer?
P.S. I am completely in support of Unprocessed October, even though my freezer does not reflect that. My personal goal is to not eat processed foods myself (except wine and chocolate, and some can argue that those are not processed), but I will not be forcing my program on the kids. And those hotdogs, they are only for summer BBQs, really.
