My Monday Menu Plan: Cabbage (and dill)

I am up to my eyeballs in cabbage. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I do feel somewhat obligated to do my best to get through the stash of 3 heads of green cabbage this week. Last night we made a little dent with cabbage and carrot coleslaw and tonight I think I will bust out an old (and easy) favorite – Cabbage Risotto, microwave style.

Friday, I found out I did not advance in the Foodbuzz Project Food Blog contest, although, I am not terribly surprised, there are quite a few fantastic writers and food bloggers out there. Some folks I know are still in the running and if you have a moment, please go over and check out Evil Shenanigan’s Pork Knuckle, Spaetzle and Red Cabbage dinner, as well as Lick My Spoon, a Bay Area blogger, who wrote about Cha Siu Bao Gone Wrong, Gone Right. If I had made it to the second round, I would have tried my hand at some typical Indian dishes, since we often chose Indian when eating out and I am not familiar at all with traditional, classic Indian cuisine, just the knock-off curries I throw together once in a while.

In our box from Two Small Farms this week, in addition to the Cabbage and Dill, we also found Lettuce, Spinach, Tomatoes, Strawberries and Summer Squash.

Here is my menu plan for the week of September 27:

Sunday: Carrot and Cabbage Coleslaw, Bratwurst, grilled summer squash and bread

Monday: Cabbage Risotto, green salad with sliced tomatoes

Tuesday: Cauliflower Curry (from last week), rice

Wednesday: Dinner out

Thursday: Stuffed Sweet-and-Sour Cabbage, noodles, salad

Friday: Pizza on the grill

What is on your menu plan this week?
