I would be interested to see what your manifesto would say!

For the Eat Local Challenge, I am not doing as much as I would like, but then I find that this year, more of the eat local stuff is already part of my life. So I guess that is good....

Cheers,

My last jug of EVOO came from the Olive Oil place in Napa - it was great, but I don't get up there enough. For everyday use, I go with CostCo brand. I try to save the good stuff for dressings.

Cooking oil, I mostly use EVOO, except when it calls for veggie, and then I go with what I can find at Safeway. I have also recently experimented with Spectrum All Vegetable Shortening, as a replacement for Crisco. I look forward to more experimenting with the upcoming pie season.

Balsamic, I go with Trader Joe's brand, although a friend just gave me a bottle of Fritz Italian Balsamic which I am eager to try.

Vanilla is from CostCo, Kirkland brand pure vanilla extract. Sometimes I get the Cook's brand (?) from Penzy's Spice, might have to order some and do a side by side.

Syrup, I go with Grade B from Trader Joe's - least expensive and best value I think....

Your choices?

We're in agreement on the big issues.

For flour, you say you usualy "measure" for baking. Do you mean "weigh?"
